PRRI is a worldwide initiative of public sector scientists who conduct research in modern biotechnology for the public good.  The 'raison d'être' of PRRI is to offer public researchers a forum to be informed about and to be involved in international regulations and discussions.

Members of PRRI are scientists in academia, government research institutes·and international organisations from all over the world. PRRI's activities are conducted·by Working Groups,·coordinated by a Steering Committee and supported by a Secretariat. For the purpose of receiving funding and paying expenses, a Foundation has been established.
